Love without attachment
live without expectation
observe without judgement
What if the question is not 'why am I so infrequently the person I really want to be?', but: 'why do I so infrequently want to be the person I really am?'.
What if your purpose is to more fully become who you already are - effortlessly, non-judgementally and compassionately in the present moment?
I offer mindfulness and meditation coaching for individuals and groups, privately and in small businesses. Mindfulness is an ancient eastern meditation practice brought into the west. Now utilised by modern psychotherapy and supported by cutting edge neuroscience, integrative medicine and many other disciplines, mindfulness encourages the non-judgemental awareness of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations occurring in the present moment.
'The past has no power over the present moment' - Eckhart Tolle
Mindfulness can be loosely defined as paying attention with intention, non-judgementally, to what is occuring in the present moment. It is a process in which thoughts, feelings and sensations are observed in an attitude of non-judgement, open curiosity and willing exploration.
Integral to the process of positive and lasting change at the neurobiological level, mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and insomnia, increase focus and productivity, has been implicated in the remission of terminal illnesses, and effectively regulates mood. It lowers the chemicals of stress, activates the chemicals of pleasure, relaxation and happiness, boosts creativity, and increases quality of life.
Using a combination of Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide the process of awareness and change at the mental and emotional levels, I offer evidence-based processes for quieting the mind and discovering the self beyond thought.
Over 7,000 published peer-reviewed articles have now demonstrated the power of regular mindfulness practice to heal and transform. Increasingly, research indicates that it can reverse symptoms of autoimmune disorders, terminal illnesses and many other diseases.
